There were the 7 deadly Sins, the 7 Wonders of the World, the 7 Continents, 7 Days in a week, and the 7 Harry Potter's books.
Now we can add the 7 GC jerseys won by Sir Sandro in Essex.
As i said in the forum, probably the hardest one. First because of the very small gaps (the podiums hols in 4 seconds), but also because our tactic of a Tter is now more and more used by other managers, and eventually because some of those TTers with hill skills were in TF.
All was gathered for Sandro to fail.
But we had some luck this time, with Cicic (Nairobi City Cycling Club) having several problems, and Kerch (ABK) finishing further than expected in the TT stage because of his TM Klostergard being better than him.
Of course luck is just a part of our victory. Montelbano made once again everything he had to : he hold on into the first stage, finishing 7th, about 40 seconds behind the winner. A time gap he was able to regain, for sure.
But with other Tters and some of them in TF, ride faster than captains was not enough : he had to beat everyone in the TT stage . And he did as always (in 7th editions, 4 wins, 2 second place and 1 time 4th).
Now the question is : will be come back next season ? We all wonder if he should : he came 7 times, won 7 times. Why not make him the invincible guy in Essex ? Or at least the never beaten ?
We will seriously think of this, and if he had to come back, it would certainly be in TF.

Il y avait les 7 pêchés capitaux, les 7 merveilles du monde, les 7 continents, les jours de la semaine, et les 7 tomes de Harry Potter.
On peut peut-être ajouté les 7 maillots de vainqueur de Sir Sandro à L'Essex.
Comme je l'ai dit sur le forum, il s'agit sans doute de sa victoire la plus difficile. Déjà les écarts le confirment, avec les 3 1ers se tenant en 4 secondes seulement. Ensuite notre idée d'un coureur CLM qui passe bien la moyenne montagne a fait ses preuves et des émules et cette saisons il étaient légion. Enfin car certains de ses spécialistes étaient en TF.
Tout était réuni pour une défaite de Sandro.
Mais cette fois-ci la chance a été de notre côté. Cicic (Nairobi City Cycling Club) a connu de nombreux problèmes, et Kerch (ABK) n'a lui pas été soutenu à fond par ses équipiers qui indirectement lui ont fait perdre du temps dans le CLM.
Cependant, la chance ne fait pas tout. Et Montelbano a également fait sa part, en limitant bien les écarts lors de la 1ère étape (7ème à environ 40 secondes) ce qui lui donnait une bonne marge de manœuvre.
Mais avec ses spécialistes du chrono battre les capitaines ne suffirait pas : il fallait gagner la 2nde étape. Ce qu'il a fait, comme à l'accoutumé ai-je envie de dire (7 participations, 4 victoires, 2 fois 2ème, 1 fois 4ème).
Et maintenant la question est de savoir s'il sera de retour l'an prochain. Et nous nous la posons très sérieusement : il est venu 7 fois, a gagné 7 fois. Peut-être devrions nous faire de lui Celui-qui-n'a-jamais-été-vaincu-en-Essex ?
Nous y réfléchirons, et s'il devait revenir, ça serait sans aucun doute en TF.

Tu y es déjà avec l'Essex : voilà un record qu'on ne peut pas ne pas voir et qui n'est pas prêt d'être battu.
